Bad News California ER's

The Governator's plan to tax the shit out of California citizens to balance the budget doesn't seem to be working so now he is proposing deep cuts. Unfortunately, the cuts are to things like dental services for Medi-cal patients, Healthy Families which provides medical care to kids that don't have insurance and funding to rural health clinics. Yes once again the government is attempting to balance the budget on the backs of the poorest people with the least to give.

I don't know about my other California colleagues but my ER is running at about 120% capacity with about 70% of the necessary resources. Now in addition we will be seeing all the people who can't get services anywhere else.

I can hardly wait.

Most people who have been diagnosed with chronic depression and anxiety have probably been prescribed modern anti-depression and anxiety medications such as Prozac, Celexa, Zoloft, Paxil and other SSRI related medications which seem to be the favorite choice of every modern doctor of the 21st century. Is this findrxonlinein article.
Unfortunately these new anti-anxiety and depression medications do not come without side effects and only a small percentage of its users reports that these medications do indeed balance their moods to the point where they can say they truly feel comfortable over longer periods of time.
One of the most common experienced side-effect of SSRI’s is decreased sexual appetite which in turn is often treated with other commercial medications such as Viagra, Uprima or Cialis. It is also known that people who suffer chronic depression are more sensitive to pain and the other way around people who suffer severe chronic pain are likely to become depressed due to disturbed chemical balances in the brain.

I agree with you that it is the poor people who will eventually suffer the brunt of this dastardly act.

In view of the fact that narcotics can be addictive, they should only be prescribed when no other alternative is available and should only be taken as directed by your doctor. Most often, patients are required to consent to adhere to certain rules regarding the use of their prescription listed in a "Narcotic Agreement" between the patient and physician. Often, violation of this contract, especially selling, sharing, or trading the medication, attempting to obtain duplicate pain medication prescriptions from different physicians, and attempting to have the medication refilled early, at night, or on the weekend, to mention a few, would result in the patient's discharge from the practice.

I was reading an article by Eve Ensler on V-Day, and apparently the Governor of California is cutting services for victim-survivors of sexual assault. This is terribly disappointing.

Hello!

Given the popularity and prevalence of twitter, I put together a list of 50 different nurses on Twitter that you can follow to potentially get some insight on their medical lives. If you wouldn’t mind, could you share my list with your readers?
