Um, well I thought I could quit blogging but I have grown used to being able to blow off some steam and quite frankly, right now I feel like my head is going to BLOW OFF!
Did you miss me?
So I don't know how regularly I will be able to post but I have to have an outlet for my, ahem, creative energies (although that is not what they call it at work LOL.)
A couple of things I have been wondering:
I took my Grandma to the doctors office the other day and, despite the fact that she had made an appointment three months in advance, we WAITED TWO HOURS TO BE SEEN. Yep, that's right, two hours with an appointment. So........if you wait for two hours when you have the appointment then why the FUCK do people get all bent out of shape when they have been in the ER lobby for 45 minutes?
And the other thing is: Why does hospital administration think nothing of laying off nurses and then hiring 7 full-time people to review documentation?
OK people, I'm back........Look out!

YEA! Welcome back.
Welcome back. I am cynical and never took you off my blog links.
People complain about the wait, when they are not there for anything life/limb threatening, because it is all about them - not anybody more in need of the ED.
They get rid of nurses because they can. They hire chart review people because they misunderstand assessments of quality think chart review is important, or it might be a JCAHO/Press Ganey/EMTALA/. . . thing.
You do realize that your intentional, leaving blogging forever was still about a month shorter than my unintentional, hey-would-you-look-at-that-life-got-in-the-way hiatus?
Still, glad to have you back!
