ERnursey has spent the last two days suffering from gastroenteritis. Let's just say I am a very bad tempered patient.
Zofran hasn't worked so I am trying to decide if I feel bad enough to try the Phenergan suppositories -so far not yet.
What I have not done is go to the ER. A little nausea, vomiting and diarrhea is not an emergency. And today I am managing little bits of popsicle, ginger ale and chicken broth so maybe the worst is over.
Meanwhile back to the couch.

You need some IVF to make you feel better. To bad you don't know someone who can hook you up so to speak.
I'm sure my parents must have had sickness at times while they raised their kids and held jobs, my mother as an RN and Dad with a business in town and his small farm growing vegetables and meat for us, but they never altered their routines or work habits in any way that we noticed, even after I was long an adult. They were so health-conscious for us all and savvy about taking care of themselves and us. They did tend to baby any of us kids when we were sick. To a degree! It's a particular mindset, I believe: that we're all responsible for maintaining our own health, for doing what is necessary during illnesses without allowing illnesses any more attention than necessary, and it includes a compassion for others not so fortunate as we felt ourselves to be in terms of good health.
Which is really why I admire nurses so much because they're exposed to various bugs so much more than the rest of us, and just have to deal with it! Taking care of everyone else!
GO TO THE ER NOW! YOU COULD BE GETTING DEHYDRATED! CALL 911!!!
JK. Hope you get to feeling betta ASAP.
I had salmonella poisoning - or whatever technical term it goes by - for six days. I didn't run to the ER either, I just sat in my bathroom, and when not there drank gatorade. Immodium worked great for me - slowed everything down. Hope you're better soon.
Hope you get better fast! I only worry if there's blood, anything other than that, just hang in there and drink as much as you can:)
Had a bad bout once---daughter froze the gingerale in the ice cube tray. That was the only thing I could keep down for days. Hope you feel better soon.
Toast - that's what you need. A very light spread of butter is permissible.
I hope you feel better soon.
You need a couple of liters of IV fluids.....and if you don't want to take up space, just go in the back door, have a coworker start a line, get some fluids and tubing to-go, and DO IT AT HOME!
There has to be at least ONE coworker who loves you
JUST KIDDING!!!!!
HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!
